Harry Gamble
Harry Gamble coached at Lafayette from 1967 to 1970 where he then moved on to the University of Pennsylvania where he coached for nine seasons. In 1982, he was named the special teams coach and administrative assistant of the Philadelphia Eagles to Head Coach Dick Vermeil. The next year, he was named assistant administrator for both the coaching and personnel staffs and then in 1984 became the director of football operations. After years as team president, he was the director of football operations and club relations for then NFL commisioner Paul Tagliabue. Gamble has continued to stay involved in the game making trips to Russia to teach the game of football, and his son Tom Gamble is the Director of Player Personnel for the San Francisco 49ers
Harry Gamble passed away on Jan 28th, 2014 at the age of 83. He is survived by his wife Joan, their two sons, Harry and Tom, and three grandchildren. The family requests that donations be made to the Brooks-Irvine Memorial Football Club Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 205, Collingswood, N.J. 08108.
