Dennis J. Ostopowicz
Dennis J. Ostopowicz was born in the coal-producing town of Nanticoke, Pennsylvania, moved with his family to Lower Bucks County in 1955 where his parents purchased a home in the then, fledging new community of Levittown. Denny attended elementary school in Falls Township and graduated from both Pennsbury High School and Bucks County Technical School and earned a college degree in music. His interest in music and the accordion started at a young age, and by the time he was fourteen years old, he was an accomplished accordionist and was performing with various bands and musical combos at banquets, and weddings and in clubs and area dining establishments. Denny’s musical ability, showmanship and his own particular performing style became well known not only throughout Bucks County, but neighboring areas as well, including Trenton and Burlington, New Jersey. And it wasn’t long before Denny started his own band and established himself and his musical combo as one of the most entertaining and sought after pop and polka groups in town; he volunteered his musical services to various area fund-raising events, including appearances each year for five consecutive years at the former Annual Cystic Fibrosis 24-hour Radio-thon, which was hosted by Bucks County radio station WBCB-AM 1490 and the programs were broadcast live from area restaurants. Denny became host and musical director of his own television show called Dance Time on Bucks County Cable Vision. Denny is single and resides in Fairless Hills, Pa.
