The Notre Dame Boys Basketball team secured their sixth consecutive win and improved to 11-6 on the year, as they defeated Hamilton West by a final of 65-44. Being senior night for the Irish, it was only fitting they were led by one of their senior captains in Josh Gatete, who finished with 20 points to lead all scorers. Gatete would take home Italian People’s Bakery Player of the Game honors in the effort.

Fellow captain and senior Charlie Schurr played his part in the senior night win with 12 points of his own. Schurr and Gatete took turns sharing the scoring lead for Notre Dame on Tuesday night, that was before their leading scorer in Will Foley erupted for nine of his 15 points in the third.

The Irish continued their winning ways using the same defense-to-offense philosophy that’s gotten them their six straight wins. Live ball turnovers and runouts were not hard to come by for Tim Stevens’ squad, as they got eight more from senior Wyatt Moore on a number of high percentage looks in the paint.

Next for ND, they put their six-game win streak on the line and prepare to face Robbinsville on the road, Thursday night at 7:00 on the WBCB Sports Network. Notre Dame has won the last three meetings against the Ravens dating back to 2022, when they upset the top seeded Ravens in the Mercer County Tournament Quarterfinals.
