CBSD: Staffing Adjustments to Support District Operations
Dear CBSD Community,
We are writing to inform you of administrative adjustments we are putting in place to ensure the continuity of district operations and maintain our strong educational program at this time.
We also wish to acknowledge and validate the many emotions and uncertainty our community is experiencing as a result of recent developments. We are dedicated to continuing to offer uninterrupted services and upholding the high-quality education our community expects and deserves. At the same time, we will continue to act as necessary in response to investigative results, always with the safety and security of students as our top priority.
The following individuals will be assuming expanded roles during this time:
- Dr. Helen Sclama Zaleski will officially assume duties as assistant superintendent of elementary education effective May 15, pending Board approval at the monthly business meeting. This start date has been moved forward from the initial July 1 start date. Dr. Nadine Garvin, the current assistant superintendent for elementary education, is slated to retire at the end of this month and has decided to take a leave of absence to allow for the transition of Dr. Sclama Zaleski to take effect immediately. Dr. Sclama Zaleski will continue to support Titus to close out the year with Dave Filson, currently the assistant principal at Titus and Butler Elementary schools, taking on additional duties at Titus. We are planning the process for selecting the next principal of Titus for the 2025-26 academic year.
- Cathy Rossi, an external human resources consultant who has been assisting in the Jamison investigation, will expand her role to provide broader support for human resources operations and services across the district.
- Dr. Chad Watters, principal of CB East High School, will assume some duties related to the assistant superintendent of secondary education role at the high school level. Similarly, Dr. Brian Caughie, principal of Tamanend Middle School, will assume some duties related to middle school operations. These adjustments will support Dr. Malone as he steps into the role of substitute superintendent.
We will continue to keep you updated, and we thank you for your continued support of Central Bucks School District.
Sincerely,
Dr. Charles Malone
